3 Strand Construction & Design was honored to be selected to build the stage kitchen for The Stella Artois Iron Chef Tucson competition. Building the centerstage kitchen for the competition was a huge privilege, and the 3 Strand team tackled the job with a clear expertise of custom kitchen builds. They arrived early in the morning to start building the kitchen around the chef-quality Thermador Monark appliances. With their expertise in kitchen designs, remodels and custom cabinetry, the kitchen stage was setup without a hitch and ready for the evening’s competition.
After setting the stage, the 3 Strand team participated in The Annual Culinary Experience. This event, hosted at La Paloma Resort & Spa, is one of the most engaging events each year for Tucson food enthusiasts. It’s not just a showcase of Tucson’s skilled chiefs, but also an exhibit of features, products and services for foodies and those who enjoy cooking. 3 Strand co-owner, Dean, with assistance from his grandson, Kye, hosted a raffle at their meet and greet booth with a drawing to win a video doorbell and a Samsung tablet. It was a fun opportunity for visitors to view the 3 Strand project portfolio, meet the team and ask all of those obscure redesign/remodel questions.
And for the main event, two of Tucson’s top chefs battled it out using the custom-built kitchen/stage. Michael Elefante from Mama Louisa’s and Travis Peters from the Parish were given a challenge to use peaches in all their dishes, and both created outstanding courses. After the judges completed their tallies, Chef Travis Peters from The Parish was crowned the new 2017 winner. Both restaurants have even begun incorporating more peaches into their menus as a result of the nights creative results. The 3 Strand team is planning an outing to taste a few of them very soon!
